Say Goodbye to Myths about Malaysian Red Palm Oil

Covid 19 has yet again brought into focus the most essential things of life which are Food, shelter and clothing. No wonder, Food forms the most important aspect in Maslow's hiearchy theory.

The world is still battling and now even more to find a permanent solution to the food crisis. That is why Malaysian Red Palm oil has become one of the most popular and economical sources of oil.

As the phrase states "Where there is Oil, there is hope"

Palm oil can be a viable solution to feed the ever increasing population of the world. It has been considered a crucial member of the food supply chain, that is perhaps the reason for its continuous production even during the lockdown in Malaysia.

In western countries such as United States, red palm oil is gaining huge popularity due to its high phytonutrient Content .

Why is Malaysian Red Palm oil ,so controversial ?

Nevertheless, there are many environmental concerns associated with Malaysian Red Palm Oil.

One of the major is the rising amount of deforestation and its impact on the world. The second being the adverse impact of its production on the population of wild animals etc.

However, the picture is slowly changing and now the palm oil plantations have started becoming more responsible towards  the environment.

They are taking steps like reforestation to protect watersheds and help conserve wildlife and their habitats.

But one question that comes to my mind, is that palm oil production is only one responsible for the adverse effects to the environment?

What about clearing of forest land for Soy plantations? What about unethical killing of animals for expensive fur items? What about the constant impact of hunting on  endangered species?

There many things happening in this world which can have a huge impact on the environment but marketing tactics have successfully concealed the facts.

Malaysian Red Palm oil, on the other hand has the potential to provide a cost effective solution to the food industry. This can benefit the economy of developing countries.

Moreover, the high amount of vitamins in the red palm oil can offer an economical solution to a large number of population of developing countries.

MPOC Google Meet

To get a better idea about Malaysian Red palm oil, I recently attended a Virtual session headed by Bhavana Shah , MPOC regional head, India. – AND SRILANKA

I got a detailed knowledge about the production and benefits of  Red palm oil.I was also happy to know that environmental  and wildlife safety is of utmost importance to MPOC and Malaysian Red Palm Oil is manufactured taking these things into consideration.

So, according to me Red Palm Oil is a cost effective and healthy oil.Its replacement by other oil producing crops  will need more farmland and therefore increase in deforestation and subsequently more carbon emission
